According to Merriam-Webster, JOY is the emotion evoked by well-being, success, or good fortune or by the prospect of possessing what one desires.
JOY is a state of happiness or felicity.
Finally, JOY is a source or cause of delight, as in “She is the joy of my life.”
For many, joy has become as elusive as peace — maybe more elusive. We can barely remember what it was like to be a child, laughing so easily, finding joy in the simple pleasures of balloons and puppies and unexpected gifts. As adults, we seek joy, reach for it, believe it to be just around the corner “if only,” and then find it slipping through our fingers.
Gone as quickly as it came, and who knows when we might experience it again?
But you were meant to experience joy all the days of your life, not just as a child, but into your senior years and right through your last breath on earth. Joy was never meant just for children. It’s a gift to humanity. It’s the fuel that keeps us going and gives us strength when life gets hard and the pressure is on.
THE JOY PROJECT seeks to reclaim joy and make it a priority for you once again. It’s an invitation for you to share your memories of joy-filled experiences from yesterday or yesteryear. An invitation to find joy again in the simple pleasures you once enjoyed and have since left behind. An invitation to learn how to embrace the wonder of joy and fill your life with new experiences that make you laugh and smile.
Join us over on THE JOY PROJECT page. We’re waiting to hear from you!
