Below, in alphabetical order by topic, are resources I love, trust, and recommend to others.
Abortion and Pregnancy Counseling + Advocate Resources
Care Net Pregnancy Centers and Counseling
For over 40 years, Care Net has been ministering to women and men considering abortion or grieving abortion. If you are in either of those groups or know someone who is, this link will lead you to a Care Net Pregnancy Center near you, as well as a 24 hour hotline to speak to a counselor now.
Care Net Resources
Do you have a heart and burden for the life of the unborn? for men and women facing the difficult decision of whether to carry a child to term? for those who have had abortions and are burdened with guilt and shame? Each resource at this link is designed to teach and equip you to be an effective advocate and ally.
Addiction and Life-Controlling Issues + Free Recovery Resources
Celebrate Recovery is a Christ-centered, 12 step recovery program for anyone struggling with life-controlling hurt, pain or addiction of any kind, including codependency in personal relationships. On their website you’ll find many resources, including a tool to find a Celebrate Recovery ministry near you.
Providence Rescue Mission
Much more than a homeless shelter and soup kitchen, this Rhode Island ministry offers physical, emotional, educational and rehabilitative services free of charge, including a year-long residential rehabilitation program called Road to Recovery. The testimonies on their website are powerful and encouraging.
Bible Reading and Bible Study + Daily Readings
Blue Letter Bible
Do you want to become a student of the Bible? Whether you’re just beginning to dive deeper or you’ve been studying scripture for many years, Blue Letter Bible offers multiple resources to the student of God’s written word. I can’t begin to describe the vast resources you will find here. Go to this link to learn how to use the powerful study tools offered by this incredible free online resource, grounded in the historical, conservative Christian faith.
Love and Light Christian Church
A daily Bible reading with commentary from my husband, Pastor Scott Quillin, who faithfully leads our church by example to make God’s written word the priority the apostles made it (Acts 2:38-47).
Transphobia and Transgenderism + Sex Change Regret
Walt Heyer identified as a transgender woman for 8 years and underwent sex change surgery and hormone treatment. He has a passion now to help those who suffer from gender dysphoria, including those who are experiencing, as he later did, sex change regret. Walt uses his platform to teach Christians how to respond to transgender people in their midst, while sharing his own story of redemption as well as the stories of others like him.
Sex Change Regret
With the tenderness and compassion of one who has personally walked through the dark valley of sex change regret, Walt Heyer’s “other website” offers wonderful encouragement, resources, research, stories and hope for people who want to detransition back to their innate birth gender.
